6..Character: Colorless column-shaped crystal with a slightly pungent odor.Melting point:45°C,Relative density:1.108. It soluble in cold water, alcohol and acetone. With strong hygroscopicity,Deliquesce in moisture. It can be used as anticorrosive, fungicide . Under acid condition, propionate ammoniumit has antifungal function. Under low PH value, the effect is better.It has low corrosive, and low volatility.It is low-toxic and corrosive. It can deliquescence in the air.

7.Usage: Ammonium propionate can be used as antiseptic and antifungal agent. Under Acidic conditions, ammonium propionate will release propionic acid, which has antibacterial effect. Ammonium propionate has good anti-mildew and anti-caking effects for grains. In U.S.A ammonium propionate and the compound of propionic acid and ammonium propionate can exert the best anti-mildew and bactericidal effects in an acidic envuironment.
